Accredited to international standards for inspection and testing, ISO17020 and ISO17025, Acron surveyors are well placed to carry out the legally required inspections for asbestos as part of the requirements to compile an Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) of your vessels. We also provide asbestos surveys and management solutions for offshore platforms.

One of the key requirements of the Hong Kong Convention and European Union Ship Recycling Regulation is to complete an IHM that should be maintained throughout the life of the vessel.

Our team travel worldwide and can be mobilised at short notice to ensure we minimise disruption to the vessel or platform.

If asbestos is identified on your vessel or platform we can provide asbestos management or removal solutions to ensure legislative requirements are met.

The vessel or platform should be re-inspected annually to ensure its relevance and a full re-survey carried out every five years.

We also provide surveys prior to recycling or decommissioning and can report accurate budget cost and timescales to allow for advance planning and negotiation.

Our reports are provided in user friendly electronic formats and can be aligned to upload to your existing risk management portals for ongoing compliance.

Marine Asbestos Training

In addition to our survey and management services we also provided bespoke asbestos awareness training that takes into account the unique environment of the Marine/offshore industry. This can be delivered as part of your commitment to ongoing asbestos management.
